MINI Celebrates Production Milestone

Image
MINI has celebrated a production milestone by manufacturing the new MINI for 20 years in the Oxford and Swindon manufacturing plants on April 26th.  In 2001 production began for MINI body parts and has continued through to this date in history. For the past 20 years, MINI has used these plants to make parts for the 2 doors hardtop, the 4 doors hardtop, the Countryman, the Clubman, and now the Electic version of the MINI.  They are still going strong and show no signs of stopping. Through both the plants, MINI employs over 4500 skilled workers who keep production moving to build 1000 MINIs a day, making that about one every 67 seconds.  Which seems amazing to me!  Also, with advances in manufacturing constantly improving, I'm sure that they will get this number up to even more MINIs per day. The Oxford plant is also a destination for MINI owners from all over the world.  The plant offers tours so that you can see the MINI's being built and learn more about the plant. I, being a

Why is the MK3 Ford Focus RS Still so Expensive?

Image
The Mark-III Ford Focus RS first came out in 2015, and it was one of the hottest sport hatchback cars you could buy. Now that the car is no longer being made, the desire in North America is still high, and prices are still close to MSRP for newer models. The RS is an amazing automobile that will fulfil your desire to sound cool and feel fast, while being restrained, cheaper (compared to other sports cars), and blend in with the regular Focus' if needed. This combination makes for a very desirable vehicle that has had its price kept relatively high from a retirement of production, enthusiasts, and desirable traits. Some Focuses can go for around $26k USD, but can go as high as $40k for modded or well kept models. If you are interested in purchasing a Focus RS, I recommend looking on a site such as AutoTempest to compile your search.

I am a Cars & Bids Veteran

Image
As many of you may know, Doug DeMuro's website Cars & Bids has been around since June of 2020, and I signed up for an account only a few days after it launched. Well, calling myself a veteran is overblowing it a bit. While I have been on the site since June 2020, I actually have never place a bid on a car, and haven't started commenting since last month. I have been observing auctions along the way, and this is not a promotion for the website in any way, but Cars & Bids is an amazing site to buy cars. There have been so many interesting automobiles at almost every price point, and it fixes the most annoying part in traditional car buying sites - the lack of photos. This is not an issue on Doug's site as every seller is required to post many, many photos that detail all parts of the car. If you are looking to buy a cool car instead of a bland A to B transporter, absolutely check out Cars & Bids.  Find my account Here

Are Head-Up Displays (HUDs) a Useful Feature?

Image
I recently made a Reddit post titled:  Not sure if this has been said before, but Heads Up Display is one of the best car features (in my opinion)  which you can find  here . When I read  through  the comments I mostly met with people who agree with my opinion and nobody (that I saw) that was truly disrespectful, but quite a few said they  dislike HUD's.  I quite liked u/babyweights702 's words, and although I have never owned a car with a HUD before, I have used one before on a 2008 BMW 535xi and I thought it was the one of the greatest features. Never having to take my eyes off the road to make sure I won't be pulled over because I was following the car in front that was doing 15 over the limit is fantastic and really needs to be in more cars. Some others expressed their discontent with HUD's, especially when wearing polarized sunglasses. Something else that surprised me from the comments was how early HUD's were available on cars. Head-up displays were first impl
