MINI Celebrates Production Milestone

MINI has celebrated a production milestone by manufacturing the new MINI for 20 years in the Oxford and Swindon manufacturing plants on April 26th.  In 2001 production began for MINI body parts and has continued through to this date in history.

For the past 20 years, MINI has used these plants to make parts for the 2 doors hardtop, the 4 doors hardtop, the Countryman, the Clubman, and now the Electic version of the MINI.  They are still going strong and show no signs of stopping.

Through both the plants, MINI employs over 4500 skilled workers who keep production moving to build 1000 MINIs a day, making that about one every 67 seconds.  Which seems amazing to me!  Also, with advances in manufacturing constantly improving, I'm sure that they will get this number up to even more MINIs per day.

The Oxford plant is also a destination for MINI owners from all over the world.  The plant offers tours so that you can see the MINI's being built and learn more about the plant.

I, being a multiple MINI owner, look forward to getting my next MINI and more in the years to come.
